About This Wine
Alsace, France. 100% Riesling on Turkcheim granite. 50+ year old vines. Organic farming. Long and soft pressed. Cold settled before native fermentation in old foudres & aged on the fine lees. The wine is dry, with racy acidity and a stunning mineral backbone. Flavors of green apple, lime zest, and crushed stones dominate, with a long, elegant finish that hints at saline and spice.
This bottle demonstrates the expression of the Grand Cru Sommerberg with the sole influence of the Alsatian microclimate. Vineyard on slopes inclined at 45°, overlooking the commune of Niedermorschwihr. Granite terroir exposed south, south-east composed of granite with two micas. This wine comes from the association of two plots: the " Herrenberg " planted in 1979 and the " Schorr " planted in 1989. Following a manual harvest, the juices ferment naturally under the influence of indigenous yeasts. The aging on lees takes place for almost a year in century-old oak tuns followed by aging in the bottle before marketing.
Available for local delivery and pick up in-store.
